Introduction
The Town Council Election System
Unfortunately voters have little care about whom they vote for. They vote for the name they hear and know after that. This is what politicians play on all the time so they try and build up their name through various media to get the votes. Politicians (State Government) devised the council system to suit them the same and it’s clearly a broken system. Just because a person is well known doesn't automatically make them right for any position. It may be a democratic system but it’s not a qualified system and any amateur can take on tasks like that and ruin a town.
This is why changes need to be made so those wanting to go into these fields of work, (and they are jobs), can show some level of competence by way of what they can offer any town or shire. They need to demonstrate they are competent and have a well set out “extensive detailed written plan”. Not just a few words of platitude.
This is why protection needs to be built into the councillor voting process so those applying for those jobs aren't taking on those tasks under false pretences. Also remember millions of dollars are involved going through the council system every year and the wrong people managing that seeing most are total amateurs isn't acceptable in any shape or form.
